Blog #1: 50 Words and 50 Illustrations
2020 February 6th
Week 1
In the first 2 weeks of this course I have made my 50 Sketches and 50 Words and began brainstorming for my first Comic page for the next assignment. The idea I was going for with my Illustrations was to create objects that have a certain value to me but it is possibly different to someone else. For example, the spin top image, when I look at that I see kind of analogy for age. How when it is first spun the object is perfectly still but after time it begins to wobble and fall. I could possibly right an essay on all of the ideas that I used to come up with my sketches. A lot of the drawings that have identifiable objects and subjects, they probably have a word that connects to the drawing but maybe not in the way you believe the word to mean. For example, when I think of home, I think of a cozy safe place where my house is. But, to a homeless man, the word home may have a different meaning. So, if we were asked to draw something when given the word "home," we will have different drawings. Here is a friendly challenge, try and guess which card is for the word "weak"? *hint* Its in the far right column.
